"God, you should have seen the size of this armoire! It was bigger than anything I've moved before."

"And it all went up 3 flights of steps - no elevator."

"It just wouldn't fit through the door. We measured it, it was 1.5" too big for the opening. I just decided it was going to go and -whoosh- it went through."

"...and they wanted us to lower the couch over the railing off the 4th floor balcony."

"The thing they forgot was that the entertainment center was built in the room so no wonder it couldn't fit through the door."

"They didn't mention the garage full of stuff..."

The stuff of movers' conversations. We love it all. Moving big things.

We went to visit a cohousing project in North Boulder today. It looks like it will be a nice community in an area that was once open field near the old Holiday Drive In site. Shops are going to open nearby, too. There has been so much building recently in Boulder during this down economy. Half of the downtown area has been rebuilt, Crossroads, I mean Twentyninth Street is back on the rails again, Gunbarrel is gearing up for some development. I imagine a lot of people will be moving around.

The other day we were called to move a glass table top for a customer. It took 3 men and cost about $150 (2 hour minimum) but the customer said it was worth it. She wanted to clean it. We're happy to please. The gun safes are a little harder....

People are definitely moving again in Boulder - May is probably the busiest month for us. Sometimes people just want us to send some guys out to pack or unpack trucks and that's fine with us. A piece of advice: if you're going to rent a truck in the summer, be first in line to pick it up. Be there before the rental place opens - otherwise there will be a wait.

We really like the Penske office near 47th and Pearl in Boulder and the Budget office on North Broadway.
